In order to keep timber cladding at its best appearance, it is important to schedule regular maintenance by fixing broken sections, repainting cracked coatings as well as removing stains that are not naturally there. And so, although you could get away using simple tools, it is a lot better if you use specialized materials in doing the job and some of those were handsaws, spray bottles, brush with soft bristles, hose, and so on. Those tools and materials could easily be found in your nearby hardware stores and that basically means there’s no excuse in not using them in maintaining the cladding.
To start, just fill the spray bottle with a mixture of 4 parts of water into 1 part of chlorine and use that to spray those areas with dark stains. Let the mixture be absorbed by the timber cladding by waiting for a few minutes before you use the brush in wiping the loosened stains. Just be careful not to over apply the mixture to those that are not affected since the chlorine would change its color when soaked for a long time.
After that, ensure that the wood was completely dry before you go on with other repairs process and in case you would like to fix a broken section, just remove the nails first then use the handsaw to cut a similar size before nailing a new part. Also, it is advised that you use the same paint in recoating the timber cladding in order that the color would be uniform at all surfaces.
